I am a Taiwan born, New York based artist and multidisciplinary designer, currently reengaging with my tactile practice. The studio is a space for slow making, quiet rituals, and materials that speak without words.My practice explores care, memory, and the tension between softness and structure, shaped by a background in fashion, product design, and a life between Taipei and New York. Whether coiling a vessel or threading through a surface, each gesture becomes a quiet act of care.This is where I think with my hands.

Threading Resilience: My Ongoing Exploration

Threading Resilience explores the symbolic and structural interplay between fiber (yin) and clay (yang), drawing from my Taiwanese heritage and material intuition. This body of work consists of hybrid ceramic and fiber sculptures that hold tension, vulnerability, and quiet strength. Each piece begins with a handbuilt clay form, looped or bound with natural fiber in a gesture of holding — both physical and metaphorical. Some works stand upright, others hang like relics or altars. Fiber threads through vessels, wraps surfaces, or stretches across negative space. These are not just formal studies, but symbolic containers of care, protection, and ancestral memory. Rooted in soft form, modular structure, and personal ritual, the collection reimagines utility as ritual, containment as care, and softness as resistance.

The weaving works shown here are inspired by artists like Anni Albers, Ruth Asawa, Sheila Hicks, and Hella Jongerius, whose use of structure, repetition, and spatial rhythm deeply informs my own approach. Their influence shapes my exploration of softness and structure, where fiber becomes a language of tension, care, and quiet form.
